01Who we are
Career Boosters ("Career Boosters", "we", "us" or "our") is a career development and talent consultancy based in Egypt. We offer career coaching, recruitment and corporate training to individuals and organizations in Egypt and across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide why and how it is used. This policy covers our website, our contact form, and the data we handle when we deliver our services.
Privacy contact: info@career-boosters.com or +20 107 024 3669. Please write "Privacy request" in the subject line so it reaches the right person quickly.
02The laws we follow
Our main establishment is in Egypt, so our primary framework is the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Law No. 151 of 2020 and the regulations issued under it, supervised by the Personal Data Protection Center (PDPC).
Because we work with clients and candidates across the region and beyond, we also respect the following laws where they apply to us:
- Saudi Arabia: the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL), supervised by the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA).
- United Arab Emirates: Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.
- Qatar: Law No. 13 of 2016 on Personal Data Privacy Protection.
- Bahrain: Law No. 30 of 2018 on Personal Data Protection.
- Oman: the Personal Data Protection Law issued by Royal Decree No. 6/2022.
- Kuwait: the data privacy protection regulation issued by the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA).
- Jordan: Personal Data Protection Law No. 24 of 2023.
- European Union and United Kingdom: the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, when we offer our services to people located there.
Where these laws set different standards, we aim to meet the higher one.
03Personal data we collect
Data you give us
- Contact form: your name, email address, whether you are an individual or a company, the subject and your message.
- Calls, WhatsApp and email: your phone number, name and anything you choose to tell us.
- Career coaching and training: your career history, education, goals, assessment results, session notes, attendance and feedback.
- Recruitment: your CV, work history, qualifications, skills, salary expectations, notice period, references and interview notes.
- Corporate clients: the business contact details of the people we work with, and billing details.
Data collected automatically
- Technical data: when you visit, your browser sends information such as your IP address, browser type, device and the page requested. Our hosting provider keeps this in server logs for security and troubleshooting.
- Cookies: see section 9 and our Cookie Policy.
Data from other sources
- Recruitment: information from public professional profiles such as LinkedIn, job platforms, referrals, and referees you allow us to contact.
- Corporate training: participant names and job titles provided by your employer.
Sensitive data
We do not ask for sensitive personal data, such as information about health, religion, political opinions, biometrics, financial accounts or criminal records. Please do not include it in your CV or messages. If a specific service ever needs it, we will ask for your explicit written consent first, as the law requires.
04How we use your data and why
| What we do | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Reply to your enquiry and arrange a consultation | Your consent, and steps you ask us to take before an agreement |
| Deliver coaching, training and recruitment services | Performing our agreement with you or your employer |
| Present your profile to a hiring company | Your consent, given for each role |
| Issue invoices and keep accounting records | Legal obligation |
| Keep the website secure and fix technical problems | Our legitimate interest in a safe, working website |
| Understand how visitors use the website | Your consent, through the cookie banner |
| Respond to legal claims or requests from authorities | Legal obligation and our legitimate interests |
We do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. Recruitment decisions are always made by people.
05Recruitment: our promise to candidates
- We never send your CV to an employer without first telling you the company or role and getting your agreement.
- Hiring companies receive only the information needed for that role, and may use it only for that recruitment.
- If a role does not work out, we keep your profile for up to 24 months so we can consider you for future opportunities, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
- You can ask us at any time to stop considering you for roles.
06Who we share data with
We never sell or rent personal data. We share it only in these cases:
- Hiring companies, for a specific role and with the candidate's agreement.
- Your employer, for corporate training they arrange, limited to attendance, completion and overall feedback. Individual coaching conversations stay confidential unless you agree otherwise.
- Service providers who process data on our behalf and under our instructions: website hosting, email, the notification service that alerts our team to new website requests, Google Fonts (to display the website's fonts) and, only with your consent, Google Analytics.
- Messaging platforms you choose: if you contact us on WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram, those platforms process your messages under their own privacy policies.
- Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.
- A successor business, if Career Boosters is reorganized, merged or sold, under the same protections described here.
07International transfers
Some of our service providers, such as Google and Meta, store data on servers outside Egypt, including in the European Union and the United States. We transfer personal data abroad only where the destination provides an adequate level of protection or appropriate safeguards are in place, such as contractual commitments, and where required, after meeting the conditions set by the Personal Data Protection Center and the other laws listed above.
For recruitment, your profile may be shared with an employer in another country in the region only with your agreement.
08How long we keep data
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Website enquiries and messages | Up to 24 months after our last contact |
| Coaching and training records | For the program, then up to 24 months |
| Candidate profiles and CVs | Up to 24 months after our last contact, or sooner if you ask |
| Contracts and invoices | As long as Egyptian tax and commercial laws require |
| Server security logs | A limited period set by our hosting provider |
| Your cookie choice | 6 months, then we ask again |
After these periods we delete personal data or anonymize it so it can no longer identify you.
09Cookies and analytics
Our website uses one strictly necessary cookie to remember your cookie choice. Analytics cookies are used only if you accept them in the cookie banner. The website also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
10How we protect your data
We use technical and organizational measures suited to the risk, including encrypted HTTPS connections, access limited to people who need it, trusted service providers and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss or misuse.
If a personal data breach is likely to affect you, we will notify the competent authority and inform you within the deadlines set by law, and tell you what we are doing about it.
11Your rights
Depending on where you live, the law gives you some or all of these rights:
- Know and access: learn what data we hold about you and get a copy.
- Correct: fix data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete: ask us to erase your data when we no longer need it or you withdraw consent.
- Restrict: ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Object: object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
- Withdraw consent: at any time, without affecting processing done before.
- Portability: receive your data in a common electronic format, where the law provides it.
- Be informed of breaches that affect your data.
To use any of these rights, email info@career-boosters.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. We reply without undue delay and within the period set by the law that applies to you. We do not charge for requests, unless the law allows a fee for requests that are clearly excessive or repeated.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to a data protection authority. In Egypt this is the Personal Data Protection Center. In Saudi Arabia it is SDAIA, in the UAE the UAE Data Office, and in the EU or UK your local supervisory authority.
12Children
Our services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 without the consent of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
13Links to other websites
Our website links to other sites and platforms, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them, and we are not responsible for how they handle your data.
14Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The latest version is always on this page with its "last updated" date. If we make important changes, we will show a notice on the website and, where the law requires, ask for your consent again.
